“Financial Counselling Australia (FCA) is the peak body for financial counsellors in Australia and the national voice for the financial counselling profession in Australia.

It is a not-for-profit organisation that:

  • Provides resources and support for financial counsellors.
  • Advocates for a fairer marketplace.
  • Works to raise the profile of financial counsellors.
  • Advocates to increase access to financial counselling
  • Works to improve hardship processes for people in financial difficulty.

The Financial Counsellors’ Association of Western Australia

FCAWA is a respected peak body with well-developed links and networks to other services and organisations in the public, not for profit, and private realm.

They are considered an expert in financial hardship, financial literacy, and financial counselling. They focus on identifying emerging issues, recording current trends and responding to social and systemic issues in the social services sector.


As well as financial counselling referrals and information, they have workshops, events, training and projects.
